What are you commemorating? ________________________
Instructions & Criteria for Good Work
Write your name on the BACK of the blank cards. |
Measure 5mm (1/2 cm) around the edge of the card. Mark these margins in pencil. This is the border of your stamp. The stamps must be measured CAREFULLY. Lines should be straight and even. |
Your stamp must have a value (1-cent to 1 or more dollars) |
Your stamp must have a "country of issue." This means the name of the country that made the stamps. Use USA unless given different directions.. PRINT—PRINT--PRINT |
Include the title of the topic you are commemorating. For example, a commemorative stamp of The Hundred Dresses would need to have The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes, printed on it. The artifact, symbol, event, person or place that you draw should be labeled as well. For instance, if you drew a picture of Maddie and Peggy looking into Wanda's empty closet, you'd label it, "A hundred dresses in the closet, all lined up in a row…" PRINT—PRINT--PRINT |
Stamps must be fully colored. Coloring should not cover up your writing or drawing. Please, no "boxes" drawn around numbers. If you lightly color the background with colored pencils, your writing will still be visible. Make sure the text can be easily read. Use black ink to outline drawings and to go over text. Text should not extend beyond margin lines. Be neat, and check your work .Grading/Assessment Rubric: 4—all directions were followed and work was completely, carefully and colorfully done. Excellence is evident. 3—most directions were followed and work meets requirements. 2—some directions were followed; work has a rushed, careless look 1—work was not attempted or is largely messy and incomplete. How do your stamps measure up to the rubric? Grade your work:_________________ Why do you think you deserve this grade? |
