TASK 1
Your first
task is to formulate 20 thoughtful answers with questions
that can be used on the show. Familiarize
yourself with information about our sun, the eight planets
in our solar system, the Kuiper Belt, planetoids, moons, asteroids, and
comets by visiting the Resources
Page. To
keep the show interesting, you'll need to collect a variety of facts.
Don't stick with size and distance from the sun facts. There's a
universe of information out there! Use the Galaxy Jeopardy Worksheet to
organize your answers/questions and then turn them into a PowerPoint
presentation.
Top presentations creators will be chosen as contestants for the
first show.

Task 2
Your
second task is to write an essay explaining why you
think Galaxy Jeopardy
will be a good show for people to watch. The most convincing essays
will give the writers a chance to earn the role as the Host of Galaxy Jeopardy!
1
|
Give
your essay an appropriate title. |
2
|
Make
a position statement and follow up with
supporting details. Give evidence. Keep your argument clear, logical,
and focused. You want a doubtful reader to change his/her mind about
the value and interest of the show after reading your essay. |
3
|
Essays are to be
written in your best cursive. They may be typed if you have shown the
teacher that you are a proficient typist and have a signed parent note
[on your final copy] stating that you alone typed the essay. |
Applicants who excel in both tasks
will become the Executive Producers of the show--the guys who hire,
fire, and make the money.
